Beatriz Hernandez de Fuhr is an information specialist working with KVINFO (The Danish Centre for Information on Gender, Equality and Diversity) an institution dedicated to bringing women’s politics and women’s research to the forefront of cultural debate in Denmark. Since 2008 Beatriz has been part of KVINFO’s Mentor Network for women from all ethnic backgrounds, an initiative that brings together immigrant women and Danish women to enhance the immigrant woman’ ability to access the labor market and to become active actor in society. The initiative was launched in 2002 as a response to a growing need to address barriers and challenges immigrant women face integrating into the labor force and into Danish society. Beatriz’s has also facilitated the co-creation mentoring programs for the advancement of women in 27 countries across three continents.
Beatriz holds an B.S. in journalism from Iowa State University and and M.LISc. from The Danish Royal School of Library and Information Science.
