Katherine White – Secretary
Katherine White graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in Women’s Studies and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in nonprofit studies at George Mason University. She is an honorary member of The National Society for Public Affairs and Administration, Pi Alpha Alpha, at GMU. As a new member at WELL, Katherine intends to use her talent, skill, and expertise in the nonprofit arena to make WELL a powerful force to bring women together to learn and lead the way to a more peaceful and productive global community.
Katherine is dedicated and passionate about empowering women and girls through education, collaboration and partnerships. Her early tenure included canvassing door-to- door for WAR (Women Against Rape) and CAPP (Child Assault Prevention Project); volunteering for crisis intervention programs and suicide hotlines; and working as a literacy and life skills instructor in a job readiness program for women on public assistance at the Nassau County Office of Women’s Services. Her life experience also includes working with teens in job readiness and employment placement at the Education Assistance Corporation in Long Island and in a local job initiative she developed for teen employment in the Northern Virginia area. More recently, she was the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the Montessori School of Northern Virginia (MSNV) where she managed the giving programs and creating special events to raise money for the school. A believer in volunteering to make a difference, Katherine enjoyed her role as “coach” for the Girls on Track program where she instructed and developed self-esteem and healthy living activities for middle school girls. A consummate fundraiser and event planner, Katherine currently serves as the Director of Fundraising and Development for Give Me A Break From Cancer in Fairfax, Virginia.
