Dr. Sandra I. Cheldelin is the Vernon and Minnie Lynch Professor Emeritus of Conflict Resolution at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (SCAR) at George Mason University. Dr. Cheldelin has held faculty and administrative appointments, including Director (1999-2001), and PhD Program Director (2009-2015) at SCAR, Provost at the McGregor School of Antioch University, and Academic Dean at the California School of Professional Psychology (Berkeley). She has worked with more than 150 organizations as an expert on gender-based conflict and violence. She is a frequent lecturer on community and workplace issues of violence, change, race and gender, and has facilitated large-scale inter-ethnic and inter-faith community dialogues on topics of fear, terrorism, violence and suspicion. Her international work includes Great Britain, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Turkey, Bosnia, Ukraine, Georgia, Tajikistan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Liberia, China and Brazil. Her most recent work includes Deconstructing Women, Peace and Security (HSRC: South Africa, 2016) and Women Waging War and Peace, (Bloomsbury, 2011).
